Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District

We are a Community Resource Dedicated to Public Service Since 1949. As an organization we take a great deal of pride in the service we provide to the community. We are a combination department with both paid and volunteer staff. Our volunteers are the backbone of our District and provide the critical link in our service. These volunteers spend many hours donating their time and energy to training and responding to emergency calls. It takes a deep commitment to help others and become a volunteer. A great deal of sacrifice has been made by all of our volunteers to be able to meet the training standards for this job. Although the demands are vigorous, and the sacrifice substantial, the self satisfaction and the reward one feels from helping their community far outweighs the sacrifice.

If you are 18 years of age or older, and willing to dedicate yourself to protecting the lives and property of others, you are the type of person we are looking to train as a volunteer. If you are 16 to 18 years of age the Cadet program is an outstanding opportunity for you to become involved with the fire service even sooner. The Cadet program will also open the door for you to become an NFPA certified Firefighter 1 as soon as you turn 18.

In addition to outstanding training opportunities, self satisfaction, and pride, the District provides a wide variety of fun social activities, and some of the finest people you will ever meet. And, the opportunities for volunteering are not limited to firefighting. We have need for office support, public education, apparatus operators, emergency medical response and other support functions within the Fire District. If this sounds like something you would have pride in being a part of, please fill out the following forms and turn them into our administrative office in Pacific City.
